Greater Fort Lauderdale, Broward County Convention Center. Transportation is our focus with a theme of “Planes, Trains, Ships and Automobiles.As Port Everglades Association celebrates its 45-year anniversary, the longtime premier gathering of Broward County business leaders is taking on a dynamic transportation twist, focusing on Broward’s Airport, Seaport and Transit progress. From new master plan initiatives to Broward County Transit’s Premium Mobility Plan (PREMO) to interconnectivity advances, transportation is geared up to keep our county moving forward for generations to come. Keynote speakers are John Forman, Assistant V. P., investments at Bridge Industrial, which is completing construction of a 170,892-square-foot industrial real estate facility adjacent to Port Everglades, at 2200 NE 7th Ave. in Dania Beach; Joel Shine, Chief Commercial Officer, Derecktor Shipyards, which counts among its facilities Florida’s most complete mega yacht yard, in Dania Beach, as well as a thriving Fort Pierce shipyard, Dean Fillichio, Director of Development, Informa, who recently moved to the Seagis Logistics Warehouse, adjacent Port Everglades.  Informa is a leading international events, digital services and academic research group, boat show producer founded in 2005, across the globe, in 30 countries.     Fleet Week, 2025, returns to Port Everglades! Assistant Secretary of Navy, Meredith Berger announced this at the opening night dinner at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce Washington Summit. Members of Port Everglades Association Board including Richard Vogel, Johnnie Dixon, Ellen DeRose, Port Director, Glenn Wiltshire, and other Broward Leaders represented Port Everglades at the Summit.

    Marine firefighting exercises took place with multiple agencies last week. The drill was for our first-responder partners to further enhance their emergency response procedures and preparedness to respond to a fire on a passenger ship. The drill was very successful says Harris Henbest District Chief, Port Everglades Command. Thanks to all those who participated.
